Why workplace wellness?
I'm Judith Paterson, a registered social worker and workplace wellness advocate.
I provide counselling and support to individuals experiencing a variety of workplace issues - and consultation and hands-on structured problem solving for organizations that care about employee wellness and engagement.
I took an unconventional path to this profession. I spent a large portion of my career as a senior business leader, eventually leading continuous improvement for a large, global manufacturing company. And I learned something important - mental wellness is lacking in many organizations and the resulting distress can cause significant issues for the careers and lives of employees.
I went on to pursue a second career in mental wellness and enjoy working together with clients and organizations to explore solutions to life's challenges. I draw upon the wisdom of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Applied Mindfulness, and years of working in business as a professional problem-solver.
